Honda Accord, a Japanese automobile manufactured in the United States, has gone through seven generations. It was first introduced in 1976 the Accord was the best selling car from Japan for 15 years. This great selling spree started in 1982 and continued to 1997.
The fuel crisis of the 70s affected the design of the Honda and when first introduced it was heralded as a fuel-efficient car. Honda was the first Japanese car that was manufactured in the United States. The horsepower of the Honda Accord engine has been raised slowly over the years. It started at 68 hp and slowly was raised to over 125 hp. The models now come with manual transmissions or automatic transmissions. The stylish Honda Accord now has a sleek bodyline and a very refined interior design. The newest models now have a V6 engine and come in many body styles from a two door to a four door to a hatchback to a five-door wagon. The large selection of body styles is the result of Honda?s obvious popularity.
