2010 Nissan GT-R

Nissan previously claimed an impressive lap time of 7:29 for the 2009 Nissan GT-R, but the team had a hunch the 2010 car would do even better.

Nissan went back to the Nürburgring with a 2010 GT-R to test what the car can do with five more horsepower, revised transmission programming, and updated suspension. The completely stock 2010 car wearing GT-R SpecV wheels and tires ran an impressive time of 7:27.56, besting the previous record by about 1.4 seconds.

It doesn’t say so in Nissan’s press release, but part of the reason the team went back to the “Green Hell” must have been to prove to Porsche the GT-R really can best the 911 GT2.

The GT-R still hasn’t beaten the Corvette ZR1’s record of 7:26.4. However, Nissan’s Chief test driver and ex-Formula One driver, Toshio Suzuki, said grip was impaired by dust and sand. The team plans to attempt another record run today.

2009 Porsche Cayenne

Overview

When the Porsche Cayenne was launched five years ago enthusiasts cried blasphemy. Porsche should not build sport-utilities, they said, Porsche should build sports cars. But buyers won the vote. Cayenne had what they needed in a five-passenger SUV: more cargo space than a sedan, off-highway capability, and impressive towing capacity. They found the Cayenne technologically advanced and remarkably fast, as Porsches are supposed to be. So, buyers wondered, why all the hand wringing?

Cayenne's balance of style, performance, and sport-utility virtues were compelling, and it quickly became a success story for the small manufacturer of legendary sports cars. When Porsche launched Cayenne as a 2003 model, executives said they hoped to sell 20,000 of the SUVs a year. Clearly, these projections were conservative. In some years Porsche sold more than 50,000 Cayennes. More than 150,000 have been sold in the past four years. Following a redesign for 2008, sales have again increased, making the Cayenne a boon for Porsche's financial planning. Cayenne's ongoing success smoothes over wildly fluctuating sports car sales, which tend to follow the consumer confidence index. Cayenne's success is helping Porsche do what enthusiasts want: develop and build great sports cars and a new four-door sport sedan. Enough hand-wringing already.

For 2009, Porsche has returned the Turbo S version and announced the 2010 Transsyberia Cayenne that goes on sale in Spring of 2009; the Cayenne GTS formally debuted late in 2008. With major advancements made for the 2008 model year, the 2009 primarily adds more extreme examples.

Grabbing headlines is the 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, boasting 550 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 and capable of propelling this SUV from 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. It's the fastest Cayenne and most expensive, almost 2.8 times the price of a base Cayenne.

Although it isn't as fast as a Cayenne Turbo, the GTS is the most agile and lithe, with all the suspension tricks of the Turbos, huge tires and wheels, big brakes, and 300 pounds less weight to haul around. The GTS is the only Cayenne V8 offering a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

We find any Porsche Cayenne enjoyable to drive, smooth, stable, and responsive. It inspires confidence and we felt comfortable driving it right to and beyond grip levels on a gravel road. It's easy to control and predictable and always behaves as expected.

2009 Infiniti Essence Concept

INFINITI ESSENCE: THE MAGNIFICATION OF "INSPIRED PERFORMANCE"
ROLLE, Switzerland (March 3, 2009) - The essence of the Infiniti brand distilled into one car and then taken to the extremes to satisfy the world's most demanding car enthusiasts ... this is the Infiniti Essence.

Presented as a concept at the 79th International Motor Show of Geneva, Essence is a celebration of Infiniti and its 20 years history as a creator of performance cars. But equally it is an inspiring exploration into the brand's future.

The dramatic design, technology and performance statement is a 600PS, petrol/electric hybrid coupe with rear-wheel drive. What Essence is not is merely an indulgent birthday present from Infiniti to itself.

This concept embodies Infiniti's core values as an inspiration for the future as much a celebration of the past. Essence showcases many of the technologies, including hybrid, and design cues that will distinguish Infiniti production cars of the coming years. And by steering Infiniti's guiding principle of "Inspired Performance" into the super-performance, super-luxury coupe market for the first time, it reaffirms Infiniti's place among the world's most exclusive and vibrant car brands.
ESSENCE: AN OVERVIEW
• A front-engined, two-seat, 600PS luxury coupe concept, 4.7m long
• First motor show preview of Infiniti's petrol/electric hybrid drivetrain
• Capable of vast speeds where conditions allow, zero emissions where they don't
• Rear-wheel drive for maximum driver involvement
• Fresh design language to influence future production models
• Previews new safety technology including Back-up Collision Prevention
• Minimalist and intensely driver-focused interior
• "New luxury" meets traditional Japanese craftsmanship
• Bespoke Louis Vuitton fitted luggage to maximise trans-continental capability

ESSENCE: THE CONCEPT
"An Essence owner is characterized by his or her fearless self confidence; he or she is an intellectual hero rather than just a successful money maker."
Francois Bancon, General Manager Advanced Product Planning

Essence began life not in the design studio but in Infiniti's product planning department. Francois Bancon, General Manager Advanced Product Planning, and his team might not, at the start of the project, have known how Essence would look, but they did know what it had to be, why it had to exist – and who it would appeal to.

"Essence is a brand icon," Francois Bancon said. "It is driven more by a conceptual approach than by any design execution. It is not just an object. It isn't a teaser for a new model. It is solely dedicated to Infiniti brand promotion, to demonstrate and advocate the Infiniti unique values."

The concept called for a very clear understanding of who the super-luxury coupe's potential customers would be. Painstakingly, Bancon and his team of advanced product planners built up a picture of a typical Essence owner. It was a profile that showed an uncompromising, risk-taking 42-year-old passionate about the best things in life, but equally passionate about not flaunting them. "These consumers don't need to demonstrate to others," said Bancon. "They are already at the next step of achievement that leads to rewarding themselves first."

Francois Bancon went on: "We wanted a new way of mixing various ingredients to get a car that was reserved but with a big presence, something trendy but also indicating the next trend. We wanted a car that aspired to become a cult. It had to be exclusive, smart and mysterious. For the driver, it had to sum up the six-word essence of Essence:

2009 Citroen C3 Picasso

THE CITROËN C3 PICASSO: WHEN OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Citroën's new baby-MPV, the C3 Picasso, will be making its first public debut at next month's Paris Motor Show, before a UK launch in 2009. The C3 Picasso will be the third Citroën to join the Company's award-winning Picasso family.

Far from the average MPV, the C3 Picasso's 'magic box' charm lies in the way it is both compact and spacious and also brings together many other opposing qualities - strength and comfort, quality and affordability, performance and economy, contemporary and retro design, square shapes and flowing curves and, significantly, style and practicality.

The new C3 Picasso offers class-leading space, intelligent and quirky design, modular seat layout, intuitive storage solutions, dynamic engines co-developed with BMW, and all the comfort, technology and safety you'd expect of a Citroën MPV. It will also fit comfortably alongside the Xsara and C4 Picassos within Citroën's - 2008's best selling MPV brand in Europe – portfolio.

Bursting forth from the ordinary with its unique, cheeky, character, bubbly personality and charming good looks, the C3 Picasso benefits from a new direction in body design, blending the roomy, versatile shapes of an MPV with the quality, agility and comfort of an SUV and at the same time, challenging the preconceived notions of the compact MPV segment.

Small outside, big inside
Citroën's celebrated range of family cars is renowned for providing occupants with generous levels of space and the C3 Picasso is no exception. Measuring 4.08m long, 1.73m wide and 1.62m tall, the car's striking cube-like body shape, with short front end and vertical rear, creates an expansive space in the cabin whilst smooth, rounded curves soften the contours and give the car a happy appearance – an expression further exemplified by the impish grin of its 'smiling headlamps'.

With the Picasso's intuitive modular design, interior space is optimised quickly and simply. To increase either boot volume or rear legroom the split-folding rear seats slide back and forth independently and can also be folded away with one effortless hand movement. This function provides an entirely flat load surface which extends right up to the front seatbacks and can be further extended – to over 2.41m – by folding the back of the front passenger seat completely down.

Unrivalled in its roominess, the cabin length measures 1.66m – one of the longest in its class and a rival for a number of MPVs in the segment above. Knee room is plentiful even with the rear bench moved forward and by using slim seat backs and bases on the front seats, rear passengers are afforded even more space. Elbow room in the front and rear is 1.43m and 1.40m respectively, another best for the segment.

Innovative storage
There is plenty of rear storage space on offer with 500-litres under the parcel shelf, the C3 Picasso's boot is one of the biggest in the segment, and with the rear bench down this aperture increases to an expansive 1,506-litres.

The C3 Picasso also features a removable boot floor, an intelligent addition to the vehicle's overall versatility, which can be positioned at two different levels. In its high position the floor sits level with the boot sill for making loading easier and in the low position, more storage height is available in the rear.

When the rear seats are folded down, a flat loading surface is created right up to the back of the front seats and magnetic flaps fitted to the backs of the rear seats extend the flat surface between the bench and the boot floor. Whatever the positions of the seats, a three-part luggage cover, which can be stored under the boot floor, completely conceals the boot contents.

The C3 Picasso's cabin also features a number of ingenious and practical storage solutions like nifty cubby holes, pen holders, non-slip surfaces and even a map holder – a place for each object and passenger. The glove box is ventilated on air-conditioned models and aircraft-style trays can also be installed in the rear with reading lights and cup holders.

Light bubble
With one of the largest glazed areas in the segment – up to 4.52m2 – the C3 Picasso is a bright and spacious place to be. Drivers are afforded a commanding and unobstructed view of the road thanks to the high-set seating position and the car's three-part panoramic windscreen with its slim pillars creating a side vision angle of 29.5° - another best in the segment. A panoramic glass roof is also available which allows even more light to soak into the cabin enhancing the feeling of well being.

Interior innovation
The C3 Picasso's cabin places special attention on perceived quality, setting the MPV apart from its rivals, with ultra-soft dashboard surface materials, carefully considered decors and the layout of the premium graining.

Providing a portable light-source in case of emergency there is a neat dual-function portable flash light available. Built into the boot where it functions as a boot light, the smart gadget can be removed and used as a hand-held torch which is recharged when placed back in its mounting.

A 'wink' shaped cluster is positioned, in classic MPV style, on the central axis of the vehicle so that all passengers have access to cabin information, angled slightly toward the driver, who also benefits from a translucent eye-shaped area with driver information.

As with the instrument cluster, the ergonomic and practical design of the controls enhances the driving experience with an easy-to-reach dash-mounted gear stick and adjustable seat and steering wheel.

Driving Pleasure
Robust and agile with a remarkably compact design, Citroën's latest MPV is perfect for city driving with its vertical rear end making parking easy. Manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle make the nimble C3 Picasso an asset in congested areas and saloon car like road holding with an uncompromised driving position, thanks to the 3-part panoramic windscreen, leaves the driver feeling confident.

The designers of the C3 Picasso also paid special attention to the acoustics resulting in excellent sound insulation for occupants. Soundproofing was focussed at the source of the noise with emphasis on reducing the higher pitched sounds. Citroën also took great care in sealing the vehicle with high performance inflated inserts and double sealing around the body apertures, bringing an immediate perceptible cut in outside noise.

With easier and safer driving in mind a range of aids are available, such as rear parking assist, speed limiter/cruise control and integrated navigation system.

The original V12 Vantage concept was unveiled to guests at the opening of the Aston Martin Design Studio in December 2007. Continuing the marque's impressive record of bringing concepts to market in their original form, Aston Martin engineers have brought the V12 Vantage to market in an incredible 12 months.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: "This is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range, combining our most agile model with our most powerful engine. It represents the definitive driving package; providing spectacular performance to ensure a dynamically thrilling and everyday useable driving experience.

"The V12 Vantage has a unique character, unlike our other cars. This will appeal to different people with different tastes, allowing more people to enjoy the Aston Martin experience.

"This also illustrates one of Aston Martin's key strengths – the ability to act quickly and turn concepts and ideas into reality."

Designed for the focused driver, every component of the V12 Vantage has been honed with pure driving enjoyment in mind. Benefitting from race-developed materials and components, and featuring lightweight carbon fibre; performance and agility have been tuned to perfection.

Visually enticing, the V12 Vantage expresses its performance potential through its purposeful stance created by enhanced aerodynamic and cooling aids optically widening the car. Equally inviting, the cosseting interior permits the driver to extract maximum performance ability from the car while also enjoying customary levels of Aston Martin comfort on longer journeys. High levels of power and torque are available at all engine speeds making the V12 Vantage responsive and tractable in any driving situation.

The V12 Vantage will be built at Aston Martin's global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire joining the DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage model lines which are built in the state-of-the-art production facility combining hi-tech manufacturing processes with traditional hand-craftsmanship. Production will be limited to between just 300-500 examples per year, making the V12 Vantage a truly exclusive driver's car.

Deliveries of the V12 Vantage are expected to commence during quarter three 2009 with prices to be confirmed at the Geneva motor show.

All-New BMW X6 M and BMW X5 M Make World Debuts in 2009

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 5, 2009... The modern, sustainable legacy of BMW M GmbH began in 1985 when engineers placed the snarling, race-bred inline-6 engine from the M1 supercar into the production BMW 5 Series sedan, reworked the suspension and brakes, and created the first M5. Through this industry-first combination of attributes, the M5 redefined the capabilities of a sedan with levels of power, precision, balance, and linear control never before imaginable. Since then, finding new ways to expand the boundaries of what is possible with existing BMW models has been the singular purpose of the craftsmen at BMW M. Now the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M are the first all-wheel-drive models to offer the remarkable performance, dynamic driving experience, athletic design, and premium quality of a BMW M product.

Both models are powered by a newly-developed 4.4-liter V8 M engine delivering 555 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650 rpm. This new M engine is the world's first with a pulse-tuned exhaust manifold encompassing both rows of cylinders combined with high-performance twin-scroll twin turbo technology.

For the X5 M and X6 M, engineers at BMW M pushed the capabilities of BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system and the Dynamic Performance Control system to manage the power and performance potential of these two new vehicles. The special M suspension includes Adaptive Drive and newly-developed Servotronic power steering. These features combine to push the limits of what was previously possible with a sports-oriented vehicle, and guarantee driving behavior characteristic of a BMW M product: incredible stability and precisely controlled steering qualities abound throughout the performance envelope.

The BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M set new standards of acceleration, lateral grip, steering response, balance, and stopping power among high-performance activity vehicles. Both models accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in 4.5 seconds and feature impressive delivery of power from the V8 twin-turbo engine which provides maximum torque of 500 lb-ft from 1,500 and 5,650 rpm. From a handling standpoint, both vehicles are notable for superb balance through careful tuning of xDrive, Dynamic Performance Control, and Dynamic Stability Control with M Dynamic Mode for linear buildup of cornering forces. These capabilities place the performance of the X5 M and X6 M on par with the performance of other recent BMW M vehicles.

The athletic character and amazing performance abilities of the BMW X5 M and X6 M result from levels of development never before applied to this type of vehicle. As it did when creating the original M5, BMW M has once again shown that applying new technologies and innovations to a solid BMW production vehicle type will produce startling performance and an exhilarating drive. Both of these new models offer capabilities and dynamic driving experiences which are quite unique, and promise to provide thrills from everyday traffic to the race track.

BMW GINA Concept Car 2009

BMW GINA Light Visionary Model has dispensed with the usual body elements found on production vehicles such as front apron, bonnet, side panels, doors, wheel arches, roof, trunk lid and rear deck. Instead, a new structure with a minimum amount of components has taken their place. A special, highly durable and extremely expansion-resistant fabric material stretches across a metal structure. This new material offers designers a significantly higher level of freedom of design and functionality.

The body consists of only four elements. The largest component extends from the front of the vehicle to the edge of the windscreen and down the sides to the rear edge of the doors. The large side panels start at the front where the rocker panels emerge and run across the rear wheel arches into the rear. The fourth component is the central rear deck element.

2009 Dodge Avenger

The 2009 Dodge Avenger adds new standard features for SXT and R/T trims including a rear spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, ABS and fog lights. The R/T receives standard 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart

Bottom Line:

The Lancer Ralliart is a powerhouse with potential. Its Evo engine and drivetrain put it light years ahead of the base car but a few car lengths behind its main rival, the WRX.
Pros:
  • Das Boost! Evo engine equals big thrills
  • Racer reflexes, commuter calm
  • Evo IX AWD delivers traction, satisfaction
Cons:
  • Pedestrian GTS suspension outclassed
  • Got contact patch? 215 tires too skinny
  • Poor price point vs. WRX, and down 28 ponies

Model Lineup
The Lancer Ralliart fills the void between the high-performance Evolution X and the commuter-minded GTS. The Ralliart moniker has been used before to signify special editions, but this 2009 version is by far the most serious. It’s the first rendition to sport turbo power and all-wheel drive.

The Ralliart has only one factory option, the $2,750 Recaro Sport Package, which adds Xenon HID headlights, a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate stereo system, Sirius Satellite Radio with six-month subscription, and Recaro front sport seats found on the Lancer Evolution GSR. A new 40 GB HDD navigation system is also available as either a port-installed option or as a dealer accessory.

Like the Evo, the Ralliart rolls on 18-inch wheels, but unfortunately its 215-spec tires create a bit of contact-patch envy compared to the Evo, which flexes 245-spec tires.

Under the Hood
The Ralliart distances itself from the GTS by raiding the Evo’s parts bins. Under the Ralliart’s aluminum hood, lifted right off the Evo, is the Evo’s turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The block and internals are unaltered. The head is the same but fitted with less aggressive cams. The big difference maker is the turbocharger.

The Ralliart uses a smaller turbo than the unit that pressurizes the Evo. The max boost pressure really tells the tale, with the Ralliart seeing 13.3 psi and the Evo pumping 22.4 psi when the hammer drops. Consequentially, the Evo generates 291 horsepower compared to the Ralliart, which is rated at 237 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. The Ralliart sports a blocky, plateau-like torque curve, with its peak 253 lb-ft online from 2500 to 4750 rpm.

The only gearbox offered in the Ralliart is the top-of-the-line TC-SST auto-manual found in the MR. The transmission is two-faced in that it can be kept in a traditional automatic mode for stop-and-go grinds, or clicked into Sportronic mode for at-will shifting via paddles behind the steering wheel or by the stick. The Ralliart version of the gearbox has normal and sport modes, but not the rev-matching S-Sport mode found in the MR. It is also fitted with higher fifth and sixth gears for better fuel mileage.

The Evo parts bin takes another big hit when it comes to the driveline, but it’s not the Evo X. The Ralliart runs an Evo IX-derived drivetrain featuring Mitsubishi’s Active Center Differential (ACD) front helical LSD and rear mechanical LSD. This setup provides grip that the GTS can’t even dream about.

Unfortunately the raiding party never made it into the Evo’s suspension parts department. Going with a GTS-based suspension provides a more civil and refined ride at the cost of apex-attacking track abilities, which Mitsubishi surmises would be wasted on Ralliart’s target audience. A tuned GTS suspension with accommodations made for the car’s all-wheel-drive system is designed to provide the best of both worlds.

Porsche Boxster

This mid-engined roadster is one of Porsche’s best-selling cars due to its powerful machine and sporty appearance. Its newest version, the powerful, jaw-dropping and speed-racing 2008 Porsche Boxster has already received great reviews and high ratings on its first year of release. The Porsche Boxster, from its original 986 version in 1996 to the current 987s, is purposely designed to be a road monster. The first Boxster S, with a larger motor and more powerful engine, was launched in 2000. These two versions of the Boxster never ceased to inspire sports car enthusiasts since their release into the market. The original Boxster released in 1996 has a 2.5-liter 6-cylinder engine with a maximum 201 horsepower capability. The engine was later enhanced to as much as 228hp for the standard Boxster in 2003 and 255hp engines for the Boxster S in 2005. Currently, the 2008 Porsche Boxster has a 245hp V6 engine, while the 2008 Boxster S model has a 295hp V6 engine. Porsche hinted that it will release either next year or in 2010 a newer version of the Boxster models with more powerful engines. The most distinguishing features of the latest versions of the Boxster are the enhanced engines that became even more powerful. The S version, for example, can do a performance of 60 miles per hour in less than 6 seconds. That means the car’s engine releases a lot of power. This performance was made possible due to the addition of a Motronic ME 7.8 engine technology that optimizes the Boxsters’ engines. When it comes to appearance, it is evident that the Boxster’s appearance is copied from the Porsche 550 Spyder and the Porsche Spyder and Speedster models, except the convertible top instead of a hardtop roof. Up to the present, this appearance has never been significantly altered. The new models still come out with the signature convertible top design. With its sleek design and powerful, impressive performance, the Porsche Boxster remains to be the car of choice among sports car enthusiasts and is in demand due to the fothcoming recession. The model will not fail in giving a head-turning experience when the owner drives the car down the city roads.

Toyota Corolla

The ninth-generation Corolla (NZE120/ZZE120) first appeared in November 2000 (Japan) with edgier styling and a longer 2600 mm (102.4 in) wheelbase. It is built on a shortened . platform—the Vista being a mid-sized, rather than compact car. From being marketed as a premium compact sedan, to an affordable hatchback, the 9th-generation Corolla was designed as a 'Global' automobile to suit different market needs. This was one of Toyota’s most versatile and most popular models ever produced.

The Corolla has also spawned another multi-purpose vehicle, the MATRIX sold in Canada and the United States, which forms the basis of the , which was in turn sold in Japan

The Audi A8

The Audi A8 can be considered the flagship of the range, as a luxury executive car it sets out to compete with other executive cars in its class. Such cars include the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes S Class, Audi have managed to compete effectively with these models as well as others in this packed class awash with prestige vehicles. The price may well scare some away however, to buy new they are costly, increasingly, a used A8 has become an affordable option for business executives.

Styled in a conservative manner, the looks of the car belie its technological and modern nature; the Audi A8 has been regarded by some commentators as the cleverest car in the world. Lighter than competitors such as the VW Phaeton and the Rolls-Royce Phantom it is constructed from aluminium that ensures rust free driving for years and makes the A8 an even more enticing used car option. The 7 Series and S Class may be more aesthetically pleasing in a bold contemporary way but the Audi penchant for understated style is prevalent throughout, right down to the single panel grill present in most of the Audi range.

It is not until you climb inside the A8 that you realise where the designers at Audi have focussed their attention. However, if it is luxury you are looking for, go for the Rolls Royce Phantom, its interior is truly awe-inspiring while the insulation dulling the engine noise is truly outstanding.

The finish is exemplary in all aspects, the ergonomic design of the driving position and cabin in general makes it a comfortable and luxurious space to spend time in. Long journeys will fly by in a breeze as you effortlessly coast along motorways. The autobahn heritage is clear to see when travelling at high speeds for any length of time as engine noise is practically non-existent and the ride quality is like floating on air.

The Quattro four wheel drive system means road holding is sheer quality and confident handling is present at every corner. The steering however can be described as a little distant, especially considering the brilliant driving experience present in the BMW 7 Series, that has been described as exemplary. This however is a minor complaint in a car that sets out not to thrill the driver but to create a driving experience that is as effortless and comfortable as possible. Engine choices are extensive and vary greatly in power and efficiency. The diesels are probably the best option as the TDi system delivers performance combined with fuel efficiency. Although the A8 is clearly missing the sheer power of the engine options in the Mercedes S Class.

Rear seat comfort makes the Audi A8 a car that makes a perfect limousine for the discerning businessman. It will comfortably fit five adults with those in the back enjoying a large degree of legroom, especially in the longer wheel based models. Although most who want to be chauffeured are more likely to look at the Maybach of Rolls for their luxurious interioirs and sense of space. In terms of reliability, the quality of finish shines through in the A8, the car will literally go for miles and miles with breakdowns being a rarity.

Downsides to this premier car do however exist, some owners have reported that the central armrest can break if leaned on too hard and the transmission in the earlier models from 1997 through to 1999 has been an issue for some, although not all. One thing that may be a worry for some is the high price of replacement parts and servicing, remember this is not a Honda, and parts will be expensive. If you have the money for the initial outlay however, maintenance costs should not be of great importance.

Overall the Audi A8 is a sublime piece of technology, it may be pricy but when compared to other cars in its class the price is relatively affordable. As a luxury car it is almost unsurpassable, the quality of this German car manufacturer is clear throughout the design and construction process and while the car may be expensive, it is good value for money. For those who travel extensively on business and want to impress, the A8 is a serious vehicular option.

Mercedes SL

2007 definitely brings significant improvements in the two-seat roadsters of Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, both in the exterior and interior design, as well as the engine. All SL-Class models have been provided with larger and more powerful engines, seven speed automatic and a welcome reducement of the noise vibration level.

The retractable hard-top, adapted from its predecessors, can be raised or lowered, transforming the car from roadster to coupe and back in just 16 seconds, through an advanced hydraulic system.
True to its half a century commitment to offering fast, light and gorgeous cars, the top German producer has outdone itself once again, this time by introducing higher standards of stability and safety. Make no mistake about it, the 2007 Mercedes SL-Class is much more than just another piece of jewelry on wheels.

The 5.5 liter V-8 engine with 382 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 391 pounds-feet torque ensures not only amazing cruising speeds, but also an astonishing resistance to long distances. The same engine ensures an acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in a dazzling 5.3 seconds.

A four wheel independent suspension together with the hydraulic system and the 18-inch tires, ensure a quality drive on different kinds of surfaces, eliminating body roll and maintaining stability even during bumpy rides. The standard safety features are truly state-of-the art, including all-disc anti lock brakes, front and side airbags, a knee airbag on the driver's side, head restraints and an electronic stability system.

Another plus is the extra space in the trunk, even when the top is folded, a rather rare feature as far as convertibles are concerned. The seven-speed automatic transmission accounts for a lower fuel consumption and less noise, through the quick upshifts, although this can sometimes result in a temporary decrease of power from the engine.

The inside of the car is covered in soft leather, including the seats, doors, steering wheel, and dashboard, and although the main control panel is operated through buttons placed next to the screen, instead of a touch-screen system, which makes it slightly harder to operate.

This amazing car has, however, a few drawbacks, the most important of which being the relatively high degree of difficulty when it comes to operating control panels for air conditioning and the audio system. Also, the brake pedal often responds in a non-linear manner, creating a slight state of anxiety for the less accustomed driver. The costs (both of purchase and of maintenance) remain quite high, making it available to only a lucky few drivers.

Optional features include front and rear parking sensors, a glass roof, adaptive cruise control and the wood trim package for an extra touch of class.

All features considered, the new models of Mercedes SL-Class remain a top choice for drivers on a high budget and great taste, looking for a fast, powerful and beautiful car as well as a fashion statement.

8 FACTS Lamborghini

Lamborghini, or Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. as it's officially called, produces some of the most exciting sports cars in the word. Some of the newer Lamborghini models are the Countach, the Diablo, the Gallardo and the Murcielago.

Fact 1: Lamborghini is named after the founder of the company Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993). Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company in 1963 when he was 47 years old. The factory is located in a small Italian village called Sant'Agata Bolognese near Bologna.

Fact 2: Ferruccio Lamborghini was a successful tractor manufacturer before he got interested in sports cars. His interest in sports cars made him buy many different high-performance cars including both Maseratis and Ferraris, but he was never really happy with any of them and therefore decided to built his own, perfect sports car,

Fact 3: Lamborghini used to be an independent company, but today it is a subsidiary of the German company Audi AG. Audi AG became the owner of Lamborghini in 1998. Lamborghini went bankrupt in 1978 and was sold to Chrysler a long time before Audi AG became the sole owner of the company.

Fact 4: The fastest Lamborghini is the Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT model. It has been reported to have a top speed of 370 km/h. The fastest street model from Lamborghini is the Murcielago LP640 with an estimated top speed of 340 km/h. Both of the models have a V12 engine with more than 6000 cc.

Fact 5: Several of the newer Lamborghini models feature the familiar Lamborghini scissor doors that rotate up and forward on a hinge near the front of the door. The Countach, the Diablo and the Murcielago all have scissor doors, but the Gallardo does not. Both the Countach and the Diablo are no longer being produced, so the Murcielago is the only current model with scissor doors.

Fact 6: No Lamborghini have ever been produced with less than a V8 engine. Most of the Lamborghini models throughout the history of the company have come with the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, but the newest model, Gallardo, only have a V10 engine. No Lamborghini models with a V8 engine have been since production of the Silhouette stopped in 1989.

Fact 7: The first Lamborghini was the 350GTV from 1963. It was extremely fast for its time with a top speed of 280 km/h. In 1964 a smaller version of the 350GTV appeared. The smaller version was called 350GT and had a top speed of 240 km/h. The Countach from 1974 was the first Lamborghini to go faster than 300 km/h.

Fact 8: In 1975 did Walter Wolf, a rich Canadian businessman and F1 racing team owner, persuade Lamborghini to produce three super powered Countach models. The Wolf Countach had the same engine as the orginal Countach prototype and were able to reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

2008 Honda Accord

During the motershow of 2007 the CEO of Honda made a speech about the company and it’s models. It was also the presentation of the concept of the new 2008 Honda Accord. John Mendel’s words at January 8th 2007 were

For the 2008 model year, Accord enters its 32nd year and 8th generation. And before I continue I should tell you that the styling concept you see here is an accurate representation of what the next generation Accord coupe will look like.

Below is the image of the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe concept. It looks great but what surprises me is that if it is sceduled for 2008 there are only very few images poping up of the 2008 Accord.

So if you happen to come across an image of the 2008 Honda Accord let me know and I’ll link to it.
